Out folk singer/songwriter Tylan has dropped her last name to embark on a new solo venture with the release of her upcoming album One True Thing, set to be released on June 18. Previously the frontwoman of acclaimed folk-pop quartet Girlyman, which has released five studio albums and spent a decade on the road, Tylan says to her fans, "I'd like to share more of my work with you, and to explore a sound that's a little more raw and exposed."
Having been compared by critics to folk icons Willie Nelson and Janis Ian, Tylan is setting out to make a lasting impression on the folk music industry. The album's single, Already Fine, features Amy Ray from The Indigo Girls and was premiered on American Songwriter.
Make sure to check out Tylan's CD Release Show on Saturday, April 6th at 7:30pm at South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry, NY! Andrea Gibson, the first winner of the Women's World Poetry Slam will be opening. You won't want to miss this night of powerful female talent.
