Recording artist and humanitarian Beyonce took to Facebook this Tuesday while the Supreme Court began hearing oral arguments on two cases on marriage equality.

She posted a handwritten message that said "If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it. #WeWillUniteForMarriageEquality" She had previously posted a red equality sign.

This is not the first time Beyonce has voiced her support of the LGBT community.  Last July, she wrote a poem in support of Frank Ocean.  Her husband Jay-Z voiced his support of marriage equality last May when President Obama publicly announced he was in favor of marriage for gay and lesbian couple.

Many other straight allies showed their support to gay and lesbian couples. Alyssa Milano changed her picture on Twitter while Cindy Crawford encouraged others to speak out.

Russell Simmons told the Supreme Court via Twitter that the country was ready for marriage equality.

Jake Johnson said LGBT Americans also deserve the pursuit of happiness.

Shonda Rhimes was hopeful her gay and lesbian friends would soon enjoy some of the same legal protections she enjoys.

Athlete Brendon Ayanbadejo shared his excitement from being on the ground with LGBT advocates.
