GLAAD is on the ground in Washington D.C. all day today, as marriage equality supporters (and opponents) are gathered, and as the United States Supreme Court is hearing arguments in cases that will decide the future of Prop. 8 and DOMA. Find out more at www.glaad.org/marriage.

Listen to yesterday's interviews here.

After arguments were heard for and against the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act" (DOMA) we spoke with two of the most influential figures in the movement for marriage equality, both of whom were in the courtroom when arguments were heard.

Jon Davidson, Legal Director at Lambda Legal:

"I'm very encouraged after the arguments today... I had a sense that we had five justices that were ready to rule our way... None of the anti-gay vehemence expressed in some prior cases surfaced at the court. Not even Justice Scalia seemed prepared to make anti-gay comments."

Shannon Minter, Legal Director at National Center for Lesbian Rights:

"I think we're going to win. I think the court is going to reach the merits on this case and I think they're going to say that DOMA violates the federal constitution, probably for equal protection reasons... I do think DOMA is dead."
