On the Monday, April 8 episode of The Talk, out co-host Sara Gilbert announced that she is now engaged to her girlfriend, songwriter and record producer Linda Perry. The couple has been together since late 2011, and Perry decided to pop the question last week at an L.A. park in front of family and friends. Gilbert describes it as "the most amazing proposal ever."

Gilbert has been a long-time advocate for marriage equality for same-sex couples, and publicly came out as a lesbian in 2010. Gilbert has two children with former partner Allison Adler, (co-creator of The New Normal), and has been vocal in her support of the overturning of Proposition 8 and DOMA at the Supreme Court, as you can see in the additional clip below.
