Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis is engaged! According to People, the diving champion plans to wed his partner, paralegal Johnny Challiot, this fall.
"I finally met my soul mate – the more I fall in love with Johnny, the more I fall in love with myself. This is what the universe had in store for both of us," Louganis said.
Louganis enjoyed a rewarding career as an Olympic diver, obtaining four gold medals and collecting two consecutive titles on the springboard and platform in 1984 and 1988. In 1989, Louganis announced that he was officially retiring from diving. After coming out as gay in 1994, Louganis then released a best-selling memoir, Breaking The Surface, in which he discussed being HIV-positive.
Since then, Louganis has appeared as a coach on Splash, ABC's diving competition and is currently serving as a mentor to Olympians-in-training on the USA Diving team.
