1) TransMilitary, a documentary about the lives of transgender service members in the U.K. and U.S., has a new trailer. Transgender soldiers are allowed to serve openly in the U.K., but are banned in the U.S., despite the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. You can watch the trailer below.
2) Uh Huh Her has released their sixth album, Future Souls. Band members Camila Grey and Leisha Hailey, who is perhaps most recognizable for playing Alice on the L-Word, set out to create an electronic dance record. Future Souls had a different creative process than Uh Huh Her's previous albums—it is the first album that Grey and Hailey have made as a couple and it was created independently of label support. 3) The Walking Deadhas promoted three recurring characters to series regulars, including Alanna Masterson who plays the out character Tara. Tara was introduced on the show in season four, which finished up this week. 
4) Chef Kristen Kish came out on Instagram earlier this week, when posted a picture of herself and girlfriend Jacqueline Westbrook celebrating their one year anniversary. Kish is best known as Top Chef's season 10 winner, and was recently featured in the major New York Times magazine article "A Woman's Place Is Running the Kitchen" alongside her mentor Barbara Lynch.
5) The Showtime comedy Nurse Jackie has been renewed for a seventh season before its sixth even begins! Stephen Wallem, who plays the openly gay (and diabetic) nurse Thor, has been in all but one episode of the show. The sixth season premieres on Sunday, April 13 at 9 P.M. on Showtime.
6) Cheyenne Jackson will be singing "music of the Mad Men era" on April 26 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, 
where he will be joined by special guests Jane Lynch and Rebecca Romijn. The concert is part of the LA Philharmonic's Songbook series. For more information and tickets, click here.
7) Rosie O'Donnell has been chosen to receive the Isabelle Stevenson Award at the 2014 Tony Awards. This honorary Tony Award is presented to a theater community member for their humanitarian, social service or charitable work. O'Donnell is being recognized for her non-profit foundation Rosie's Theater Kids and her work improving arts education for New York City public school students. Tony nominations will be announced April 29, with a live broadcast of the ceremony to follow June 8th on CBS.
8) Frank Ocean has debuted a new song called "Hero," which was created with Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash and DJ Diplo as a promotion for Converse. You can hear the song below.
9) Fred, a documentary about out Republican presidential candidate Fred Karger, is premiering today at the MONiff International Film Festival in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Karger ran for president in 2012 and was the first openly gay presidential candidate to appear on the New Hampshire primary ballot. You can check out the trailer below.
10) MTV has begun casting for its new drama Scream, which is based on the horror film franchise of the same name. One of the show's four main character descriptions that's been released so far is for teenager Audrey, a "bi-curious daughter of a Lutheran pastor” who "dreams of being a filmmaker."
11) New digital platform Stage 17, which provides a creative space for the Broadway community, is currently in its beta phase and will feature several online series with LGBT content as part of their launch. The opening episode of season 2 of Wallflowers introduces Alex (John Halbach), a musician and potential love interest for Bryce (Patch Darragh). Country Queers Can Survive and Thrive! is an "oral history project and blog documenting the diverse experiences of rural and small town LGBTQI folks in the U.S.A.."
