Latino USA on National Public Radio hosted by award winning journalist Maria Hinojosa has been airing stories about Latino LGBT people, including a full hour devoted to the queer community in February and, most recently, a profile of a queer Latina cumbia band.  These stories are available in their archives and have been broadcast on NPR stations and on Radio Bilingue, the Latino public broadcast network with headquarters in Fresno and Oakland.  Radio Bilingue is heard throughout the Central Valley in California and in the Southwest.

The stories include a profile of Christina Herrera a trans woman from El Salvador now living in New York and Asher Diaz a trans man from the Midwest.

Segments like these can do a lot to educate the community about LGBT members' needs and achievements.  Follow the links below to listen to these stories and learn more about the program.
