1. CW S
eed is launching an all new season of Husbands, the ongoing web series about an actor (Brad Bell) and a baseball player (Sean Hemeon) who learn to navigate newly-married life following a drunken Vegas wedding.
2. Sony Classics has acquired Saint Laurent, a biopic about French designer Yves Saint Laurent which is premiering in competition at this year's Cannes Film Festival. The film is directed by Bertrand Bonello and features Blue is the Warmest Color star Lea Seydoux as well as Gaspard Ulliel, Louis Garrel, Helmut Berger and Dominique Sanda. Interestingly, the Weinstein Company is slated to release a competing Saint Laurent biopic, titled Yves Saint Laurent, on June 25th in the US.
3. Victoria Cartagena has been promoted to a regular 
role on Fox's upcoming Batman prequel series, Gotham. Cartagena will be playing the fan-favorite lesbian detective, Renee Montoya, who went on to become a major character in the DC Comics universe. Early reviews of the show's pilot script report that not only is Montoya's character specifically identified as a lesbian, she apparently also used to date the main character's fiancé, so it looks like her comic identity will remain intact.
4. The official trailer for Fox's new drama, Empire was released on May 12th. The series follows the life of a terminally-ill man who is head of a music empire, and his three sons who are battling for his throne. One of the sons (Jussie Smollett) is a gay musician struggling with the decision to come out publicly. Not only is the show created by Oscar-nominated gay director Lee Daniels, it was recently announced the The L Word creator Ilene Chaiken has signed on as the series' showrunner. 5. Rachel Tutera, a stylist, contributor to dapperQ, and the force 
behind popular Tumblr blog The Handsome Butch, will be the focus of a new and untitled documentary produced by Lena Dunham. The film will be produced by Jenni Koner's company, A Casual Romance, and directed by Jason Benjamin.
6. Openly gay actor Chris Colfer is set to star as the lead in Noel, a biopic about the early life of the gay, English playwright Noel Coward. The film is also in casting talks with out actor Sir Ian McKellen and Vanessa Redgrave. Coward was known for his nearly 50 published plays as well as his work as a writer, director and film actor. Noel, which was developed by the British Film Institute, aims to shoot later this summer.
7. The new digital series, #OWNShow on the revamped OWN website features out personality, Karamo Brown as one of the hosts, who was formerly seen in the 2004 season of MTV's The Real World. According to Brown, the show aims to "talk about topics that are things that you can use, tools, to live your best life." For more information on #OWNShow, check out the OWN TV website.
8. The new series One Big Happy, produced by Ellen 
DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman, is scheduled to air on NBC mid-season. The series stars Elisha Cuthbert, Nick Zano and Kelly Brook and follows a lesbian woman who agrees to get pregnant and start a family with her male best friend, right before he falls in love with someone else.
9. Sundance TV has announced they are developing a new series called Hap and Leonard, which is based on the award-winning novels by Joe Lansdale. The story is a wry thriller centered on the unlikely friendship between a straight, white southern man and a gay African American Vietnam veteran who work together to attempt to solve local crimes.
10. A new independent film called Chasing Yesterday needs some help with production costs. Chasing Yesterday is directed and produced by Talia Myers and Rhyon Brown and follows the lives of five childhood best friends who have grown apart and the challenges they face when coming back together. The film also features a character named Ian who struggles with the fear of coming out as gay to his friends. You can learn more about the project here and watch the video below!
