Zamora is often credited with humanizing the HIV/AIDS epidemic and was an outspoken advocate. The series also included his relationship with fellow advocate Sean Sasser and the network made history with the broadcast of the couple's commitment ceremony. Zamora was 22-years-old when he passed. In 2008, The Real World's production company Bunim-Murray produced the film Pedro about his life, written by Dustin Lance Black and Paris Barclay.

Don't miss the hour-long SiriusXM OutQ special The Real World San Francisco: Remembering Pedro 20 Years Later this Monday at 2:00pm ET/11:00am PT.
