HBO has officially cancelled Looking after the comedy's second season wrapped up Sunday night, but the network has promised fans a finale special to wrap up the series. The GLAAD Media Award-nominated series followed a tight knit group of gay friends living in San Francisco as they try to figure out life, love, careers and friendship in the big city.

“After two years of following Patrick and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love and lasting relationships, HBO will present the final chapter of their journey as a special,” HBO said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing this adventure with the shows loyal fans.”

Eddie (Daniel Franzese), a character introduced in Looking's second season, and How to Get Away with Murder's Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) are the only HIV-positive characters currently on primetime scripted television. GLAAD recently partnered with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and AIDS United to release a guide for talking about HIV and AIDS in the media.

Franzese and Looking cast mate Murray Bartlett presented How to Get Away with Murder with the GLAAD Media Award in Outstanding Drama Series at the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles last weekend. Award recipients in the remaining categories will be announced in New York City on May 9 at the Waldorf Astoria, tickets are available now.
