As the show features a trans character in the midst of her transition, Soloway discusses the ways in which the show can be an educational experience for the audience. In the interview, she explains what exactly it means to be trans, the importance of pronouns, and how the show was inspired by her own parent. Soloway says that the show serves as "an example for all of us about leading authentic lives." This year, 'Transparent' received the Golden Globe for Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy.
