Tonight catch the series premiere of Becoming Us, a new show following the life of a teen with a transgender parent. The show focuses on the point of view of the family's son, Ben, as he comes to terms with major life changes while his parent transitions to living as a transgender woman. Along with his girlfriend, Danielle, whose parent is also transgender, Ben navigates through all that comes with having a transgender parent. The Becoming Us website adapted several terms from GLAAD's Media Reference Guide for their Trans Glossary, and lists GLAAD as a resource along with several other LGBT and transgender organizations.
Becoming Us premieres with the episode #WelcomeToMyWorld, June 8th 2015, at 9 PM EST on ABC Family.
