Church can often be an alienating place for LGBT people, but during the GLAAD Southern Stories Summer Tour, we are proud to offer faith-based programming and events that highlight and promote LGBT acceptance in the South and in the church.

GLAAD is partnering with Reconciling Ministries Network in participating in a worship service during the North Georgia United Methodist Annual Conference. Reconciling Ministries Network mobilizes United Methodists of all sexual orientations and gender identities "to transform the United Methodist Church and world into the full expression of Christ’s inclusive love." The Annual Conference is a meeting of United Methodist clergy and lay members, including electing delegates who are committed to LGBT inclusion in the church. This worship service is an opportunity for all LGBT people and their allies to join in a moment of worship together.

GLAAD's Religion, Faith & Values program works to amplify the voices of LGBT-affirming communities of faith and LGBT people of faith. The program has secured national and religious media interest in stories that bring examples of LGBT equality in faith communities to Americans. The program trains openly LGBT and LGBT-supportive ministers, faith groups, and individuals from a wide range of faith traditions to share their stories in their local congregations and throughout mainstream media.

GLAAD will be hosting the reception following the worship service. Join us for snacks, beverages, a "Got Your Back" photo station, and the opportunity to share why LGBT acceptance in the South and in the church are important to you!

The worship service is open to all, and we hope to see you there! Click here to RSVP: http://glaad.nationbuilder.com/summer_tour_reconciling_ministries_network_worship_service.
