What to Watch Thursday 8/1: Series premiere and marathon of Please Like Me, season premiere of Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell

Tonight catch all-new episodes of The Winner Is..., Project Runway, Degrassi, Hollywood Game Night, and Chef Wanted With Anne Burrell.

What to Watch: Thursday, August 1

8:00pm: Please Like Me, Pivot (3 hrs) SERIES PREMIERE

The Australian comedy premieres in the U.S. with a full season marathon on Pivot starting at 8 pm, find Pivot in your local area here. The series centers on Josh's awkwardly comedic life as he goes through a break up, realizes he is gay and moves in with his mother as he works on picking up the pieces of his life.

9:00pm: The Winner Is..., NBC (1 hr) NEW

This reality competition series allows a panel of 101 every day people to vote on who they think would make a great performer. In each episode, contestants are offered large sums of money to duck out of the game before the last round or if they want to continue on in pursuit of the ultimate prize.The last two performers will battle it out for $1 million dollars. This season includes out YouTube personality Tyler Oakley.

9:00pm: Project Runway, Lifetime (1.5 hrs) NEW

Designers go head to head for the grand prize of this fashion design reality series, which includes a fashion spread in Marie Clare magazine, the opportunity to design a collection for Belk and a $50,000 styling contract with L'Oreal Paris.

9:00pm: Degrassi, TeenNick (30 mins) NEW

The students at Degrassi High struggle to balance their school lives with their personal lives. Watch for out LGBT characters Adam, Imogene and Tristan.

10:00pm: Hollywood Game Night, NBC (1 hr) NEW

Jane Lynch brings celebrity and non-celebrity contestants together in one room for a night of competitive games. This week's celebrity participants are Rose Byrne, Tom Arnold, Patricia Heaton, Stacy Keibler, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Anthony Anderson.

10:00pm: Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell, Food (1 hr) SEASON PREMIERE

Every week, out chef Anne Burrell selects four contestants, testing their business skills and culinary prowess, all in pursuit of the title of executive chef of a top restaurant.

This morning and afternoon, check your local listings for information about EllenThe Talk (CBS) and The Chew (ABC). Days of Our Lives on NBC (check local listings for time) features gay character Will as a series regular; keep an eye out for developments between Will and Sonny.
