The Last Ship's second season opens with a special two hour premiere. The remains of the ship's team come together to create an underground resistance as an imprisoned Rachel works to help the sick when doses of the cure run too low for everyone to be helped. The Last Ship: Sunday, 9pm on TNT.
The documentary Out in the Night premieres on PBS and Logo tonight. The documentary tells the story of The New Jersey 4, a group of African-American lesbians from New Jersey who were convicted of assault after getting into an altercation with a man who physically and sexually threatened one of the women. Out in the Night: Monday, 10pm on Logo and PBS.
A Self-Made Man, a new documentary, premieres on America ReFramed on PBS. The film tells the story of transgender youth advocate Tony Ferraiolo who works with trans youth and their parents to help both sides communicate and gives youth a safe place to be who they really are. He has been honored for his advocate work by Lambda Legal and has appeared in the PBS series In The Life. A Self-Made Man: Tuesday, 8pm on PBS World Channel. Check your local listings.
PFLAG and USA Network partnered for Tuesday's all new Royal Pains episode where trans teen Nicole Maines will make her acting debut. Maines will play Anna, a choreographer who Hank treats when he finds a problem with some of the hormones she is taking. As part of the partnership, a special PSA starring the series' lead Mark Feuerstein will air during the episode. Maines, a 17-year old senior high school student, made history in January 2014 by winning a landmark case when for the first time in the U.S., a court ruled it unlawful and a violation of human rights to prevent transgender students from using the bathroom of the gender with which they identify. Royal Pains: Tuesday, 10pm on USA.
Big Brother premieres on June 24. This season's housemates include the series' first transgender cast member, digital media consultant Audrey Middleton, who will be sharing her story in the first episodes. This season's cast also includes professional poker player Vanessa Rousso who says the most difficult part of being in the house will be "not being able to communicate with [her] girlfriend" and gay supermarket cashier Jason Roy. Big Brother: Wednesday and Thursday, 8pm on CBS.
Rookie Blue returns Thursday, June 25. In the sixth season opener, Andy and Sam return to work after the evidence room bombing and things take a turn for the worse when an intruder attacks a member of the 15th division. Rookie Blue: Thursday, 10pm on ABC.
CBS' The Briefcase this week features the Vendely-Salgado family, Amari and Natalie, from Miami. Each episode sees two families who are struggling financially being given a briefcase with $101,000 and 72 hours to get to know the other family before deciding how much (if any) of the money they will give to them and what they'll keep for themselves without knowing that the other family also received the same briefcase and instructions. Amari is a trans man and this money could fund his transition and help he and his partner Natalie to move out of her grandmother's home and get a place of their own with their three children. The Briefcase: Friday, 8pm on CBS.
